This post is in continuation to my previous article on how HDFC Bank forged my signature and changed application form!
After more than 15 days of initial complaint HDFC Bank has responded. They say changing application form and forging signature is a human error!
From the response I infer that they are accepting that they forged my signature and changed the application form. I was dealing with HDFC as a financial institution and hence HDFC is fully responsible for actions of their employee. They are smartly trying to avoid the word “forgery” in the response. Forging a signature is never an error but intentional.
They say there is no financial loss after debiting my account with charges(reversed after complaint) and also gaining the print/courier charges of sending physical statement.
Further they are asking my consent to close my credit card account. This re-iterates their mistake again. I guess legally since they have issued a card with forged signature I would not be liable to pay the dues 🙂
Reading the initial post and email reply what do you infer? Let me know in comments.
